Some sort of strange looking beetle proceeded to eat a great deal of the fleshy parts. My family already thought I was nuts, still thinks so. This is mild, compared to some other things I've been known to save/do/etc.!Pat Dolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11724006295082940515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082112384828398593.post-11085721118355593972014-10-28T22:42:55.680-04:002014-10-28T22:42:55.680-04:00Pat, mostly to appease my family that I haven'...Pat, mostly to appease my family that I haven't gone completely off the deep end! But seriously, it's generally squished. And then there's the matter of separating the flesh from the bones, I don't have a good spot to let it happen naturally, and I don't want to keep dermestid beetles. I turned around and rescued the carcass.

Squashed road kill wouldn't be good, though!Pat Dolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11724006295082940515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082112384828398593.post-32791366054323396942014-10-28T21:28:14.637-04:002014-10-28T21:28:14.637-04:00Thanks Pat! I'm an avid bone collector, but skulls are a RARE find in my experience. Guess I don't go deep enough into the woods or I don't look closely enough at the woods floor.

Great work, as always!Pat Dolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11724006295082940515noreply@blogger.com
